Deborah Plumley
- Principal, Plumley KM Consulting

Deborah's specialty is Procedural Knowledge MappingTM - a high-value workshop technique that visually displays knowledge within the context of a business process and then uses the knowledge map (a) to develop a strategy, or plan a program or project or strategy implementation; (b) to define knowledge management processes; or (c) to frame a knowledge management effort. For example, her knowledge maps for a world-leading pharmaceutical company were used to design a collaborative R&D knowledge system that significantly accelerated time to market.

Deborah brings to her consulting practice 20 years of experience at Hewlett-Packard. Prior to her career at HP, Deborah was an independent consultant to major banks.

Deborah holds a B.A. from Smith College and a M.A. from Harvard University.

 

Neil Olonoff
- Knowledge Management Consulting

Neil Olonoff is an experienced knowledge management and change management professional.

He holds a degree in Knowledge Management and organizational development and has published on the topic.

He has led or participated in projects for such clients as: Agilent Technologies, Aventis Pasteur, Fannie Mae (Federal National Mortgage Association), General Dynamics, Kmart Corporation, William Mercer, The World Bank.


Darlene Varaleau
- Principal, Power Projects Inc.

Darlene Varaleau has over twenty years of consulting experience with clients such as Nortel, Ford, S.A. Armstrong Limited, Placer Development, NRCan, Ontario Community and Social Services and the City of Toronto.

Her projects have included:
- "Project Excellence" with S.A. Armstrong, a pump manufacturing company and one of the "Top 50 Best Managed Companies" in Canada.
- "Repair Our Air-Fleet Challenge" is a business to business challenge amongst fleet managers committed to improving Toronto’s air quality while increasing fuel efficiency and integrating industry best practices.
- Project evaluation of Nortel’s global employee satisfaction program. Design of a reorganization strategy for a major public institution in Toronto.
- Implementation of an organization audit for Placer Development Ltd.
- Design of a leadership development strategy and implementation program for the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services.

Darlene is a lawyer and holds a L.L.B. and M.B.A. from the University of Toronto. She also holds a Master of Applied Behavioural Sciences from the Leadership Institute of Spokane. 


OliverSchwabe
- Euro-Focus

Oliver Schwabe is a globally recognized virtual community builder and coach. He heads up a consulting firm focused upon creating tangible value out of intangibles and is associated with numerous global expert networks. Dr. Schwabe supports the delivery of organizational change programs in collaboration with third parties and has authored numerous executive seminars and coaching programs for virtual delivery (www.euro-focus.com). He delivers a number of MEd and MBA courses for Jones International University, Capella University, the UNDP Virtual Development Academy and the Open University Business School.


 
Debra Wallace

Debra Wallace consults in a wide range of private and public sector organizations, helping them to develop knowledge and learning strategies to maximize their performance. Most recently, she was responsible for developing and guiding the implementation of the organization-wide knowledge and learning strategy for the newly combined Sun Life Financial and Clarica Life Insurance organizations. Prior to that role, Dr. Wallace was the Project Manager and Community Facilitator for the Agent Network, a community of practice for Clarica agents Canada-wide. A frequent speaker and workshop facilitator on the benefits of “knowing what you know,” Dr. Wallace has co-authored a chapter on communities of practice in “In Action: Measuring Intellectual Capital” (ASTD, 2002) and continued the writing partnership with Hubert Saint-Onge in “Leveraging Communities of Practice for Strategic Advantage” (Butterworth-Heinemann, 2003). She is currently completing a book on advocacy capability development for family law professionals with the Honourable Madam Justice P.H. Wallace.


Judith Gabor

Judith Gabor is an executive coach who works with leaders to help them reach their personal and corporate goals. She speaks and consults on creating life balance, establishing collaborative and nurturing work environments and enhancing learning opportunities.  Her groundbreaking research into the characteristics of people who survive and thrive in changing workscapes is the basis of her forthcoming book.

Judith's background in adult education and counseling play active roles in her belief that Knowledge Era corporations will be healthy entities if they are based on mutual trust, leveraged talent and collaboration at all levels; organizations are not static entities but the sum total of each individual within.

 

Peter Smith

Peter Smith is President of The Leadership Alliance Inc. (TLA), an Anglo-Canadian management-consulting company he founded in 1988. Peter maintains a very active international consulting practice assisting client organizations in both public and private sectors. He largely specializes in assisting clients enhance their performance by optimizing development of critical innovation drivers such as organizational learning, knowledge management, leadership, and motivation.

Prior to establishing his consulting practice, Peter held various senior positions in IT, HR, and R&D with the Exxon family of companies in New York and across North America. The breadth of Peter’s practical hands-on management experience has proven invaluable in ensuring that he can relate to the problems and pressures faced by leaders in today’s complex and ambiguous environments.

Peter is also Executive Director, International Foundation for Action Learning - Canada; Chair, International Community of Action Learners; Visiting Professor of Management Learning Processes, Canadian School of Management; and a past associate of Peter Senge’s Organizational Learning Center (MIT) and of the Agility Forum.

He is Editor-in-Chief of the online Journal of Knowledge Management Practice, and Guest Editor of the scholarly-refereed journal The Learning Organization. He has had published some twenty-five scholarly papers on a broad range of topics related to performance enhancement, and is internationally active as a speaker, workshop leader and conference chair.
